Description
The Afriso boiler safety group 77938 is a high-quality, pre-assembled safety group for closed heating systems up to 50 kW. This safety group complies with the European standard EN 12828 and effectively protects your central heating system against overpressure, air accumulation, and pressure fluctuations.
Thanks to its complete assembly and integrated insulation shell, this boiler safety group is ready for immediate installation and suitable for most boilers and heating systems with a 1” female threaded connection.
What is a boiler safety group?
A boiler safety group is a mandatory safety component in every closed heating system. The unit combines multiple safety functions in one compact assembly and prevents damage to the boiler, pipes, and radiators.
The Afriso boiler safety group consists of:
- a safety valve to prevent overpressure
- an automatic air vent for air removal
- a pressure gauge to monitor system pressure
Together, these components ensure safe and stable operation of the heating system.
Composition of the Afriso boiler safety group
This safety group is factory pre-assembled and consists of:
- Pressure gauge for direct and continuous display of system pressure
- Automatic air vent with Aquastop for safe air discharge without water loss
- Diaphragm safety valve that automatically relieves excess pressure
- Integrated insulation shell that reduces heat loss and prevents condensation
- Brass manifold on which all components are clearly mounted
Why choose a boiler safety group with insulation?
A safety group with insulation offers important advantages compared to a non-insulated version:
- Reduced heat loss around the installation
- Higher energy efficiency
- Lower risk of condensation
- Neater and safer finish
For modern central heating systems and sustainable heating installations, an insulated safety group is therefore the recommended choice.
What does a safety group do in a central heating system?
The safety group continuously monitors the operation of the heating installation:
- The safety valve prevents dangerous overpressure
- The automatic air vent removes air and prevents malfunctions
- The pressure gauge makes it easy to check the system pressure
Without a safety group, a central heating system can become unsafe. Therefore, the use of a safety group is mandatory according to applicable installation standards.
Installation of the boiler safety group
The boiler safety group is mounted on the designated connection point of the heating installation.
General guidelines
- Always install the safety group vertically
- Connect the safety valve to a suitable discharge pipe
- After installation, check the system pressure and sealing
Application per installation
- Central heating boilers and hot water appliances
- Pellet and biomass boilers
- Buffer tanks and hygienic storage tanks
If in doubt, installation by a certified installer is recommended.
Maintenance and inspection
For safe operation, it is recommended to inspect the boiler safety group at least every 6 months.
In addition, it is advisable to replace safety groups preventively every 10 years.
