A thermostatic mixing valve is for your own safety - water from the boiler that is too hot is dangerous and costs unnecessary energy. In such installations as solar or solid fuel boilers, temperatures can rise considerably. In addition, tap water that is too hot is dangerous and can cause burns. That is why thermostatic mixing valves are often installed to mix the tap water back to approximately 60/65 degrees. Most kitchen taps and shower taps cannot withstand temperatures of more than 80 degrees, which can cause the membranes to warp and therefore there is a chance that they will leak.
